Antique Irish 9ct Gold Tara Brooch – Dublin 1923

Every now and we come across a really special piece of antique jewellery. This piece really is quite spectacular! It was made in Dublin in 1923 which would have been at the end of the civil war period in Ireland. This was quite an exciting period for design in Ireland as during this time Egans of Cork would have been producing their famous Republican Silver. The decoration and design is quite exquisite with superb embossed Celtic weaving and gorgeous blue, green and red enamelling. It’s rare to find a Tara brooch with such attention to detail and displaying such master craftsmanship. The piece is made in 9ct gold and also has a safety chain which allows you to wear it with a bit more piece of mind.

We have plenty of other pieces of antique and vintage jewellery if you would like to view it at Diana O’Mahony Jewellers, 8 Winthrop Street, Cork.
