*Sold*- Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Bon Bon Dish
Victorian times were always about extravagance and profuse decoration. Even sweets were put on a pedestal in these days, probably because at this time they were quite the delicacy and deserved a bit of pomp and ceremony. Their arrival at the dinner table would always have been upon their own bon bon dish.
Here is an exquisite piece of late Victorian silverware. A sterling silver bon bon dish with a pedestal base and ornate handles. The bowl of the dish have stunning swirling scallop chase & repoussé decoration decoration. This piece was made in 1898 and assayed in Birmingham.
